Anointing of the Sick
“Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up.”
James 5:14-15
The Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated for those who are seriously ill or are dying. The Sacrament may be repeated if the sick person recovers after the anointing but becomes seriously ill again. Arrangements for those who are homebound or in hospitals or care facilities may be made by calling the parish office at 248.547.1818. Arrangement may be made once a person becomes seriously ill. There is no need to wait until death is immanent.
